B-PICTURE
B-Picture remembers old Hollywood.
This series of portraits by Heungman was selected by the Society of Publication Designers for their 1988 annual exhibition at the Art Direction’s Club of New York.
Unlike Warhol collecting Hollywood publicity stills, Heungman was using an 8x10 camera with Polaroid Type-55 film to examine the essence of a Hollywood portrait setting, which had been in vogue since the beginning of motion picture making.
Only contact prints were made. They were done at traditional darkrooms between 1986-1989. Solely five prints were created from each selected negative. They were then archived and have never been shown to the public.
